BIOGRAPHY
Young Shar is a prominent Chinese rap artist and a core representative of Mintone Records. With his distinct musical sensibility and profound songwriting craftsmanship, he has carved out a unique position in the Chinese rap and independent music landscape.
His representative works include the acclaimed album Young Fresh Chin as well as standout singles like "Lucky" and "Xun Qing". The celebrated album Young Fresh Chin won the Top Ten Albums of 2019–2020 at the 3rd NetEase Cloud Music Original Music Festival, while his singles have topped monthly NetEase Indie Music Charts, earning him nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Rap Single at the Abilu Music Awards.
Throughout his artistic journey, Young Shar has consistently pursued cutting-edge collaborations and conceptual innovations. In 2016, he featured on the track "Lotus" from label-mate Daylight's album Peony Pavilion and released his debut single "Lucky". In 2018, he released the conceptual EP With The Beautiful Face, captivating the scene with a serialized three-part narrative framed by "Urban Hunter Rules". In 2019, he collaborated with Galactic Knight Boss Li on the tribute album I Go to 2000 and partnered with FBR to release a West Coast rap-themed soundtrack. In 2020, he appeared on the hit variety show Rap for Youth, delivered the iconic performance "We We", and released the mixtape Young Fresh Chin.
Beyond his studio achievements, Young Shar is a regular fixture at major music festivals. In 2021, he performed at the Qingdao Meticulous Music Festival, Liyang Taihu Midi Music Festival, and Chengdu MDSK Music Festival, and returned to the Chengdu Meticulous Music Weekend in 2023, captivating fans with his magnetic live stage presence. On March 29, 2026, he won Best Rap Album at the 2025 NetEase Cloud Music Indie Music Awards for his critically acclaimed work Everyone Loves Hip-Hop, further cementing his exceptional artistry in the genre.
