ABOUT

Sounds good! Feels fun! Play it again!

Restlessly playful singer-songwriter Neon

calls on FiFi Zhang, jody, clef, and Massica—

a new generation of imaginative musical minds—

to go all out with her debut EP, MeMe Collection.

The result? A playful collection of reworks and remixes: ReRe Collection!

★ Her own musical playground—there’s always more to play with

This April, Neon released her debut EP, MeMe Collection. Across five tracks, listeners met a singer-songwriter brimming with restless, playful energy. Inspired by Shibuya-kei’s freewheeling collage spirit, she mixed her favourite pop sounds, internet culture, and ideas gathered along the way into her own musical world. The EP was out, but she wasn’t done playing!

While preparing next year’s album, Neon revisited folders filled with earlier versions: alternative arrangements explored during production, new ideas developed for live performances, and little experiments born from messing around with friends. Some had already made their way onto the stage; others remained “unreleased classics” among close friends. This time, she sorted through her favourites and invited friends to shake things up, bringing us ReRe Collection. It’s her musical puzzle—of course she can take it apart and put it together again!

★ ReRe Collection: Creative memories on replay, with a playful rework twist

ReRe echoes Rework and Remix, as well as that irresistible urge to hit Replay. Collected together, these songs also form a Recollection of Neon’s creative adventures. Wanting to hold on to those good times, she gathered these playful moments of reinvention into a collection made through play, giving familiar melodies fresh rhythms.

Neon loves the possibilities, “A song doesn’t stop evolving once it’s finished and released. It can keep changing with different people, in different settings, and in different moods. I hope you’ll have as much fun getting lost in these versions as I did making them, and discover all the playful little surprises along the way!”

★ Friends are joining in—let’s play together!

Revisiting those old files gave Neon a fresh spark of curiosity: what else could these songs become if a few friends joined in?

So she handed over the pieces of her musical puzzle. Two exciting new voices, FiFi Zhang and jody, joined her, bringing a remix and guest vocals respectively. Naturally, her BRAINFREEZE friends clef and Massica had to be part of the fun too! From her own new arrangements to collaborations with friends, from a live session to one final megamix, these five songs offer plenty of new ways to listen.

1. Good Morning, Don't Kidnap Me, Okay?

While inviting vampoleez to work on the original Don’t Kidnap Me, Neon also made a more childlike, mischievous version of her own. It feels like the little scenes playing out in your head on a morning coffee run—letting your thoughts wander, and saying good morning to the world along the way.

2. I Am Your Music (FiFi Zhang Remix)

You Are My Music gets an answer this time: I Am Your Music. Neon invites the whimsical singer-songwriter FiFi Zhang to remix the original and add her voice. As “you” and “I” swap places, a one-sided infatuation becomes a playful back-and-forth between two people.

3. Mute Lullaby (feat. Massica & jody)

While BRAINFREEZE were joining their friend jody on tour as special guests, Neon and her friends put together a new version of She Doesn’t Speak. BRAINFREEZE’s versatile Massica contributes remix production and backing vocals, while spirited newcomer jody joins on vocals. With a heavy dose of trip-hop drums, She Doesn’t Speak becomes Mute Lullaby.

4. DooDoo (Live at HavocStudio)

Around the release of the original EP, Neon and her friend clef created this special HavocStudio live version of DooDoo Language. The pair reworked the sounds and arrangement for the session, bringing those quiet bedroom murmurs into a live setting and capturing a performance worth replaying.

5. E-MAP (feat. clef)

Skip the step map and head straight to the dance floor! After finishing Skip Dat Step Map, Neon felt there was still more to play with. She tried a version with a house beat, then sent it to longtime collaborator clef to take further. In his hands, the track became more electronic, with a stronger 2010s flavour. The regular live collaborators later brought E-MAP to the stage too.

★ This week’s picks, back to back! ReRe Collection Mega Mix

This time, the tracks have been resequenced for a fresh listening flow. Having recently caught the DJ bug herself, Neon began imagining how they might play together, then asked her friend clef to turn the EP into one continuous mega mix. It’s like tuning in to a music channel’s weekly countdown as a kid, or putting this whole musical game on repeat. Keep listening, and a few memories of the millennium might come flashing back!

Welcome to 卫柏Neon’s ReRe Collection.

Join her and play it again—and again!
